ABOUT ALFANET

Alfanet connects local groups of physicians and innovative practitioners to form a national networked organization. Most members are the pioneers of Swiss Managed Care scene and are organized in local groups of physicians and quality circles.

The alfanet organization uses the Internet platform (alfanet.ch) as the basic communication and collaboration platform. The know-how and experience of the different groups are exchanged, common work is coordinated, and critical information distributed and discussed in real time

THE CHALLENGE

In the next few years networking in the health sector will gain more and more importance. There is a high demand for a cooperation of doctors, which is based on compatible treatment, careful processes, and a collaboration culture common to outside mediators too.

The expectations of outstanding services, like round-the-clock support and care, educational course offerings for different diseases, telephone hotline as well as the communication service and care quality are beyond the possibilities of one single practice. Similar to hotels, hair salons and fitness centers, a networked cooperation increases the market presence and distributes and shares the high costs of brand building.

As a result of the ongoing discussions of new forms and possibilities of treatment and of collaborative disease management, there is an increasing demand for multidisciplinary and versatile care-teams with a good organization structure. Efficient knowledge exchange and collective learning abilities is key for the success of a networked care organization.
