What
are your areas of work in metalayer?
I
am currently concentrating on View Generation and the Personal Page
concept in metalayer 1.0
What
do you mean by View Generation?
View
Generation allows you to see content in various views. For e.g.
you might want just a small image indicating a picture type content
on the times page, and want the same picture to appear embedded
inside the community. So even the views of content become context
oriented. So this concept helps you to manipulate the view of any
type of content.
Could
you talk about the various features the Personal Page will offer?
The
core function of the personal page is a space where you can summarize
all your comty hubs all over the web, and keep a constant watch
for new content and happenings. It also gives you alert functions
and instant meeting calls from all over your hubs. But your personal
page is also a space where you can maintain your own sections of
content. You can for example get all the 'To Do' type of content
from all comty hubs into one list and thus manage your deliverables.
You can select certain communities and scan them for new content
which you can see in your PP. Also advanced search options are available
in the PP - search not just for one hub, but for all comties on
all hubs you are registered. Your PP is your bird's view of your
entire comty, happenings and eRelationships.
To
what extent does metalayer allow personalization?
Communities
are public places and can be personalized totally by comty Administrators.
The Personal Portal is your private space and you can put anything
there. You can inherit the design from any communities from any
hub. This means that you can copy the design of any other community
onto your own. The content sections and their positions are not
pre-defined and you can place them anywhere you want. This is like
lego-blocks. You have all the parts, and you can build any structure
you want. This is the advantage of an open system like metalayer.
It compliments human conversation and it's structure.
