If the comty hub and the metaSite is your company and the public places within your neighbourhood and city, the Personal Portal is your personal flat or your personal workplace. It is the space, where you keep your personal things, your favourites, your to-do lists, your access lists and registration objects for the different hubs.
The personal portal is the place, where you login in the morning and come back anytime when you need a status check. It hyperlinks you into all layers you have subscribed to and gives you an overview of new content on these layers. The Personal Portal is, where you hold your views to your favourite or important objects on the different layers - like the living orgchart of the organization you work for etc. In a step towards the future when most work will happen in virtual workplaces including important meetings and discussions, the Personal Portal is your space to organize your knowledge and adapt it to your own personalized style of working.

The Living Orgchart

The living orgchart is a graphical representation of any organization. You may add a living orgchart anywhere within your layer, on a page, comty, your personal portal etc. It shows a real time view of your global organization: Who is available, who is online, who is currently at which place within the building or anywhere else on the globe. You can call any employee or group on the living orgchart for a meeting, and send them SMS alerts etc. The living orgchart ensures that employees are connected together. The Orgchart can have any number of levels and teams and supports any form of (draw-able) organization - team, matrix, hierarchical etc.

ART - the 'virtual paper napkin'

You are in a discussion - in a garden restaurant, a cafeteria, a train. You start to explain a concept, discuss an idea. You search for the right words, try to explain. "Do you have a pen?" You take the pen and grab any piece of paper, a napkin or newspaper, and draw your idea. Now, it becomes much clearer. You simply cannot explain some ideas and concepts and have to draw them to visualize and communicate.

The 'ART' object is based on SVG and provides an area like a whiteboard in a browser to co-draw. ART provides similar tools and shapes as paintbrush or powerpoint but with the difference, that the object is truly collaborative. If you add a line, a shape, some text, everyone on the same page sees this immediately and may start to co-draw within the same space.

ART is a standard metalayer object. Any browser may view ART drawings converted to images (.jpg). For co-drawing, you need the (free) SVG plug-in. You may use this object anywhere you go, open a drawing space within a discussion, attach a drawing to any other object, and instantly create an area within a real-time interaction, just like your paper napkin.

The MOB

The "Meta Object Builder" (MOB) is a tool to define and create your own object types. It provides a simple to use interface with wizards for anyone to create web forms or fast and easy designed customized objects, and it provides access for technical people down to the level of the XML and source code to create any kind of new objects.
The mob is itself an object, able to hold and "wire" the different meta- objects, which you need to create metalayer objects:

• A semantic template - A graphical Interface to add or remove fields, generates the code in the Metalayer Semantic Language.
  
• A graphical design - You have the choice of generating a design by choosing a wizard, to write/paste HTML or XSLT.
  
• Code - If you have manager rights on the current layer, you may create and add any client or server side code for your object within the browser itsel
