The tests are performed on the latest versions of the browsers and OS, as far as not mentioned differently.
| Native XML application |
As native XML application, Colayer stores all data in XML format, and all information is exchanged in the form of xml. No relational structures are in Colayer, which gives the application its unique flexibility & openness.
| A Software Platform to build Web 2.0 Sites & Applications |
Colayer offers a framework to build interactive social web 2.0 environments. Just like php, coldfusion, asp(x) and jsp for the dynamic web, Colayer offers a platform for creating any type of social websites and application.
| DHTML Client |
In order to use a Colayer based web site, no installation is required. Any W3C compliant browser and an Internet connection is all you need.
There are 2 client versions available for Colayer: |
1) The Dynamic Version is a HTML client with JavaScript and an HTTP stream for dynamic page updates. This runs in any state-of-the-art web browser and most of the environments.
To test the HTTP stream, please go to colayer.com and use the Virtual Reception. The DHTML client is using ‘AJAH' technology, similar to AJAX a web 2.0 client technology.
2) A Static Version is available for high security environments or for devices with limited JavaScript possibility. The static version has no JavaScript running.
| Colayer Server |
The Colayer server is a native XML application.
Supported OS:
| AJAH: Asynchronous JavaScript and HTML |
The Colayer client is entirely implemented in AJAH: different to AJAX, in AJAH the data reminds on the server and only the presentation (HTML) goes to the client. Small pieces of updating HTML is sent via an HTTP stream to the client and there inserted with JavaScript at the right places.
